A criticism of the Ukrainian Catholic charismatic movement

  1. This is horrifying. Seeing those monks bouncing up and down...

It certainly doesn't make the Uniates look any more legitimate either. Hard ti believe that at the same time they are bouncing up and down, they are seizing churches from the canonical UOC. What a mess. Lord, have mercy!

  4. God forgive me , but they are not only heretics , but under influence of the evil one. I knew a Serbian lady who was brainwashed by Pentecostals as a teenager. She had never been normal since..even some Ukrainian Catholics have had enough.... They have a traditional Synod of Bishops headed by a Czech, not recognised by Rome. Interesting that the patriotic rap music is in Russian, not Ukrainian. And Constantinople wants to unite us with this craziness? No wonder people run to the Greek Old Calendarists.... The devil must be rejoicing.

  5. These heretics are worshipping candles and incense. Do they think Christ approves of their dreary chanting?

  6. I am very surprised that this video was posted here without acknowledging the source: the Union of Orthodox Journalists, which is just another Putin propaganda tool. Please notice how English narrator's voice drowns out the original speakers in the video in Ukrainian. Like the posters John M above, I also question some of the pictures - are they really from Ukrainian Catholic Churches? Or doctored images from Roman Catholic Churches or even Ukrainian Pentecostal Churches?

Here is the original site of the Video.

Here is the background information of the "Union of Orthodox Jounalists: "...Among the groups this new staff oversees are the Union of Orthodox Brotherhoods, the Union of Orthodox Citizens, the Association of Orthodox Citizens, and other radical nationalist groups not publicly associated with the Moscow Patriarchate in order to suggest that these conflicts arise within Ukraine and to give Moscow deniability as far as its role is concerned.
The chief operative of this Moscow staff in Ukraine is the Union of Orthodox Journalists which “in fact,” Samokhvalova says, “is neither a union or contain journalists or Orthodox faithful.” Instead, it is an FSB operation..."

    1. They do put out rather professional videos. Some are more confrontational than others.

    2. No one argues that the UOJ is not a tool of Russian propaganda. However, can someone proof this video is a forgery?

Everyone seems to be interested in motives behind people instead in what they actually say or do. It's ridiculous.

  7. Please consider the blog post linked below which responds to the video. The post is from a Catholic priest who is very knowledgeable and supportive of the Orthodox Church.

    1. I don’t see much of a refutation here. Just an historical account of what we’re seeing here.
